YOUR TASKS
  • Develop state-of-the-art optimization solvers for the steel industry
  • Understand and analyse the complex business logic, constraints and objectives of our customers 
  • Translate the business logic into high-performance algorithms and 
    mathematical optimization models
  • Validate the performance and quality of your models by proper test- and benchmarks sets
  • Manage and maintain the embedded role of the solver in a broader, modern backend architecture 
  • Explain and document your approaches and ideas to the team
YOUR PROFILE
  • Experience in developing solutions for difficult combinatorial optimization problems from the industry
  • Strong background in Mixed-Integer Programming (MIP), Linear Programming (LP) and combinatorial optimization algorithms
  • Ability to build MIP models for real-world problems
  • Experience in using optimization solving software like: Gurobi, Xpress, SCIP, HiGHS, CBC ...
  • Strong C++ background (preferably C++20 or higher)
  • Ability to explain complex concepts to your team
  • Experience working in agile environments, containers and CI/CD concepts
  • English is required, Fluency in German is a plus
